ULEGAL - Summernats Burnout Champion

ULEGAL COROLLA WINS SUMMERNATS BURNOUT COMPETITION

Mick Brasher with his blown injected "ULEGAL" Toyota Corolla has won the burnout competition at Summernats 23. Under clear hot skies in Canberra, Mick lined up in a strong field of cars ready to turn their tyres into melted pieces of rubber. Mick easily qualified into the field of over 50 of the toughest burnout cars in Australia with a one minute burnout that almost blew both tyres. When driven back to the trailer, wire has hanging out of the tyres, with Mick laughing, "Come Sunday, there will be nothing left". The Corolla arrived to Summernats on Thursday, went through all the safety checks, and once all the stickers were placed in the right places, a few laps around the grounds and it was ready for the huge weekend that Summernats always delivers.

Friday saw the Corolla cruising around the grounds, giving plenty of people an experience of being in the blown injected 'rola. The little 'rola ran without any problems all weekend, which is a testament to the engine builder, Mark at EZE-10S Performance. "This engine has plenty of burnouts under it's belt, and I think at last count it has done over 25 burnouts. The engine has produced the goods, and I'm very happy with the way it has maintained it's power and reliability". Saturday saw the Corolla driving around Summernats all day, chewing through litres of methanol along the way. On Sunday, a few laps of the cruise route and then it was time to line up for the main show.

Once Mick hit the burnout pad, the pedal was slammed to the floor and huge amounts of smoke pumped off the rear tyres. The car only moved an inch before it was thrown into a donut, which saw the crowd go crazy. All the way down the 'rola smoking the tyres and signing his name on the track. With just over a minute of the small block screaming at over 7000 revs, the tyres couldn't stand any more punishment, and decided to part company with the wheels. Not to be outdone, Mick stepped from the drivers seat, gave the injector hat a few bumps, jumped back in and drove off the pad a happy man. "It's a dream come true to win one of Australia's biggest burnout comps. I would like to thank my family, all the boys at EZE-10S Performance and anyone that helped along the way. Bring on 2010".
